Disruption to services
on the weekend of 16-18 April
We advise our customers to have completed all their banking for the weekend by Friday 16 April.
On the weekend of 16-18 April Arion Bank is launching a new payment and deposits system in cooperation with the Icelandic Banks’ Data Centre. The new system, designed by the international software company Sopra, is replacing an older system and will both improve efficiency and create new opportunities for product development.
We aim to ensure that the launch of the new system has as little impact on our customers as possible but some minor disruption to services is inevitable. Services in the Arion app, online banking and self-service ATMs will be disrupted to some extent over the weekend in question. Main disruption
to services over the weekend
The main disruption to services will occur around noon on Sunday 18 April.
We would like to ask our customers to prepare and take appropriate steps to ensure that the disruption of services causes the minimum inconvenience.
Some services will be unavailable
for 2-4 hours on Sunday 18 April
- The Arion app and online banking will be temporarily unavailable.
- The Call Centre, online banking for individual and companies and B2B will be unavailable.
- Debit cards might not work temporarily but credit cards, purchasing cards and gift cards will not be affected.
Please note that the wallet in your phone will continue to work so you can still use your phone to make payments while the above services are unavailable.
